Hello Darling: letters from my father/ Luge Hardman.
"Hello Darling: Letters From My Father," is a personal look at the romance of the author's parents, telling of their courtship and marriage using 84 letters her mother saved from the war years, including letters from the Pacific in 1944 and 1945. Her father served in the U.S. Navy on two destroyers, the USS Maury and the USS Williams, as a Fireman. Using the chronology of the ships, the author uses the locations and events her father couldn't share then as a backdrop to the beginning of a life-long love affair. As a history teacher, the author will also focus on the impact on the soldiers, Marines, and sailors who left their lives behind to defend democracy. It is an emotional journey, as the author shares the love story of her parents, who are examples of the many stories of families from the WWII generation, as they participated in one of the most monumental events in world history. They were truly the "Greatest Generation."-provided by publisher
